Company History

Quality Equipment Rentals began as Quality Paint & Garden Supply, which was started by Gordon Wells in March of 1946. The name later changed to Quality Paint & Builders Supply and was operated by "Gordie" until 1969.

During these years, he started renting equipment with the sale of materials. In 1969, the company was sold and divided into two different businesses; Quality Paint & Hardware, owned by Paul Chaillie, and Quality Equipment Rentals, owned by Dennis Wells (Gordie's son). Don Perkins, Dennis' brother-in-law, became a partner in 1972 and worked with Dennis until his passing away in 1987. In January of 1989, Paul retired and the hardware store closed.

In 1982, Dennis began to purchase the properties that Quality Equipment Rentals operates on, eventually buying the original property that Gordie had sold in 1969. The Company's expansion has continued to this day with the purchase of additional properties.

In 2011 John Lyons, Quality's manager since 1994, became a partner, ensuring that Quality will continue to operate for its customers and employees for years to come.

Quality Equipment Rentals continues to successfully compete, thanks to its elite corps of employees, high customer service standards, and of course, its faithful customers.
